King Lear says this line to Gloucester, explaining his theory that babies cry right after birth because they've realized that they have been brought to this terrible world. King Lear was a downer. He's so negative about everything! Well, you can't really blame him, right? What kind of old man with two blood-splattered and empty eye sockets would be happy?
